Code Purple Air Quality alert issued for all of PA Friday

(WJET/WFXP)– The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued a Code Purple on Thursday for several western Pennsylvania counties and all of the commonwealth on Friday.

All of Pennsylvania will be under a Code Purple Air Quality Alert for Friday, July 17, according to the DEP. They’re encouraging all Pennsylvanians to bring their activities indoors.

The DEP issued the Code Purple for Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties stemming from wildfire smoke from Canada and Minnesota…
