Runaway Tire Hits SUV on Interstate 80, Driver Uninjured

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Pennsylvania State Police say an Erie man escaped injury after a loose tire rolled across the highway median and struck his SUV on Interstate 80 in Venango County.

According to a public information release report from the Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion, the accident occurred on June 24 at 4:54 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 46.1 in Richland Township, Venango County.

State police reported that Kohl W. Kellogg, 25, of Erie, was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue westbound in the right lane of I-80 when a tire rolled across the median and into the westbound travel lanes. The runaway tire struck Kellogg’s oncoming Nissan’s front end…
