WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — It has been more than a week since a man was gunned down in the Anacostia community of Washington, D.C., and homicide detectives are still piecing together what led up to the shooting.
In an update on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) identified the victim as 37-year-old Delonta Phillips of Southeast, DC.

Minutes before 11:30 a.m. on July 10, D.C. police officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1900 block of 16th St. SE, near Marion Barry Avenue SE, where Phillips was found unconscious.
Medics tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene…
