New $50 million in Woodlawn targeted by vandals twice in recent weeks

The pastor behind a $50 million development in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood said his community center was targeted not once, but twice this month by vandals.

The community center near 66th and King Drive is just months away from openingm but for the second time in two weeks crews had to repair the windows destroyed by vandals at the soon to be Robert R. McCormick Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center in Woodlawn.

“It’s been very unfortunate especially since we’re putting so much hard work into making sure we have a beautiful facility,” said Corey Brooks, senior pastor of New Beginnings Church…
