LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas metro area added 3,000 jobs since May, according to a June report released Thursday by the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR).
Job growth in Las Vegas offset shrinking employment in the Reno and Carson City areas in June, and continued a year-over-year trend.
“Over the past year, Nevada has added jobs at a brisk pace, and that trend continued in June with over 2 percent growth in jobs over the past year. The labor force participation rate and unemployment rate both decreased, matching the changes in the national rates this month. Overall, the state’s labor market remained on a solid footing in June,” DETR Chief Economist David Schmidt said.
