HONOLULU (KHON2) — An investigation into an alleged multimillion dollar check fraud operation has led to the arrest of two people and dozens of criminal charges. State of Hawaii investigators said the case followed months of work and could involve additional victims across Hawaiʻi.
The Hawaiʻi Department of the Attorney General announced the arrests of Felix Savoy, also known as Felix Tigilau, 41, and Baron Yamabe, 75, in connection with an alleged scheme involving about $1.2 million in fraudulent checks.
The AG office said Savoy was arrested on a $1 million warrant, while Yamabe was arrested on a $100,000 warrant. A third suspect, Ursula Ramos, 78, is pending arrest on a $5,000 warrant…
