HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Horry County Department of Airports has announced its intent to pursue the closure of the Loris-Twin Cities Airport, according to officials.
Officials said the decision followed a lengthy evaluation of the airport’s activity levels, financial sustainability, future infrastructure needs, and long-term viability. In 2021, the Federal Aviation Administration removed the airport from federal funding eligibility because it no longer met the minimum operational criteria.
