WASHINGTON (7News) — Thick smoke from Canadian wildfires will make for very poor air quality, reduced visibility, and smelly skies across the DMV Friday. A Code Red Air Quality Alert is in effect for the D.C. and Baltimore metro areas.
This means the air is unhealthy for everyone and you should limit and/or avoid strenuous activity outdoors. Even worse air quality is expected along and west of the I-81 corridor where Code Purple Air Quality Alerts are in effect.
Aside from the smoke, it will be hot, but less humid today with afternoon highs in the lower to middle 90s.
Thick smoke will continue to blanket the area, as humidity levels increase overnight. Reduced visibility will continue with isolated showers and thunderstorms possibly dotting radar after midnight…
