Annandale man sentenced for possessing large quantities of ‘boot’ drug, gun

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — An Annandale man was sentenced on Thursday for possession of a drug known as “boot” with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Virginia.

37-year-old Tyrice Stanton was sentenced to five years and four months in prison.

On May 2, 2024, law enforcement searched the home of Stanton, according to court documents cited in a release. In his bedroom, investigators found 36 individually packaged bags of N-isopropyl butylone (boot), a Schedule 1 controlled substance, in addition to another larger package of boot, for a total of 41.63 grams.

Investigators also recovered a privately-made gun with an extended magazine and a laser light, another handgun, ammunition, four ammunition magazines and brass knuckles…
