An Orange County Sheriff’s Department K9 has died after a battle with cancer, the department announced Friday.
K9 Kane served the department from 2021 to 2026. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department described Kane as “a loyal partner, dedicated protector, and cherished member” of the local law enforcement community.
“K9 Kane faithfully served the citizens of Orange County with unwavering courage, professionalism, and heart,” the sheriff’s department said. “Throughout his career, he stood beside his handlers, Deputy Malkov and Reserve Lt. Klappenback, forming partnerships built on trust, dedication, and an unbreakable bond.”
