I-469 lane reopens after semi crash near northeast Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A semi crash on Interstate 469 was the source of a Friday morning traffic jam on the northeastern edge of Fort Wayne.

Traffic was slowed for hours on the southbound side of the interstate, from S.R. 37 to U.S. 24. The crash happened in the righthand lane around 9 a.m. just past the Stellhorn Road overpass, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. There is ongoing construction in the area.

A WANE 15 crew at the scene saw a semi that appeared to have taken down the guard rail when it crashed.

The southbound righthand lane was temporarily shut down during the crash investigation, INDOT said. It appeared to be cleared by the afternoon…
