Retired Dallas ISD educator and community activist Kathryn Lacy Mitchell was recognized July 1 as the Dallas Park and Recreation Department and WellMed celebrated her 105th birthday and lifelong commitment to education, service and active aging.
Mitchell, who has spent decades serving students and the Dallas community, continues to attend programs at the city of Dallas’ WellMed Senior Activity Center five days a week, making her the center’s oldest regular participant.
