On Facebook, organizers said, “Mother Nature said not tonight,” adding, “Due to poor air quality, Rockford City Market is closed this evening.”
Rockford City Market Canceled Over Canadian Wildfire Smoke Concerns
If you’re out of the loop, smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to blanket northern Illinois, including Rockford and Chicago. Earlier today, the news broke that Chicago’s air quality was deemed “worst in the world” because of the smoke.
Health officials are advising that time outdoors be limited for kids, older adults, and people with asthma or heart and lung conditions.
