Baltimore County police are investigating whether skeletal remains discovered Friday morning belong to a New Jersey woman who has been missing since late June, according to a police release.
Detectives said the remains were found in a tributary of Back River, near the interchange of Route 702 and Interstate 695 in Baltimore County, Maryland. Officers responded to the area after receiving a report of possible human remains and located them in a nearby creek bed, police said.
Investigation Into Missing New Jersey Woman
The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the person’s identity along with the cause and manner of death, according to police.
Detectives are working to determine whether the remains are those of Kimberly Gordon, 46, who was reported missing from New Jersey and was last seen on June 21, police said. The department has not released additional details about where in New Jersey Gordon lived or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
