JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) -It has been a full week of pageantry events at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson and the weekend tops off with new queens.
Showtime started at 5 p m, with the auditorium filled with supporters ready for a night of competition and celebration.
The evening featured several parts of the program, giving contestants a chance to show their stage presence and confidence, and building up to that moment when the new titleholders were announced.
The spotlight was on the crowning of a new Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer and Miss Iris Tennessee Teen. But it wasn’t just about the teen titles, the event also included the crowning of new Little Miss and Pre-Teen winners.
“I think it is an important part of our program to not only get young women on stage and grow their confidence, but they get to go in the interview room and speak to adults and judges and just feel confidence within the young lady,” said Emily Anne Sparks, Executive Director.
