Baton Rouge, La. (Louisiana First) — As students return to classrooms Aug. 7, the Zachary Community School District is entering the new school year with a continued focus on supporting teachers, maintaining safe campuses and expanding opportunities for students.
District leaders are pushing a tax initiative that would dedicate funding entirely to teacher and employee compensation. Superintendent Ben Necaise said the goal is to ensure educators are recognized for the work they do.
