NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – French Quarter business owners say the long delays in a Sewerage and Water Board pipe replacement project have snarled foot traffic, cut into revenue and often left them without warnings when closures expand.
A partial civil lawsuit settlement approved last Friday (July 17) could bring some relief.
Under the settlement approved by Civil District Court Judge Sidney Cates, the SWBNO has 10 days to begin removing some barricades and fencing where active road work is not underway and to install pedestrian crossings.
