The Mountain Dance and Folk Festival will return to Asheville High School for its 99th year July 30 through Aug. 1, bringing three evenings of Southern Appalachian music, dance and storytelling to the school’s auditorium.
Each show is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. at Asheville High School, 419 McDowell St. The Folk Heritage Committee says the program will change nightly, with musicians, dancers and storytellers appearing across the three performances.
The Thursday, July 30, program includes Green Valley Cloggers, Richard Hurley, Nobody’s Darling String Band, Balsam Mountain Cloggers and Songs From The Road Band. Friday’s performers include storyteller Connie Regan-Blake, Laura Boosinger, Josh Goforth, Sheila Kay Adams and the Sons of Ralph…
