Mary Jimmie “Bobo” Shinn, then 25, was last seen alive in Magnolia on Thursday, July 20, 1978. Shinn, an art teacher who dabbled in real estate, told others that she was going to meet a man she didn’t name to show him a home on East McNeil Street. Her car was later discovered in a grocery store parking lot at the intersection of Main and Dudney. Shinn was never found in spite of an intense local search at the time, additional searches through the years, and an investigation that’s still open.
