CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The union that represents corrections officers in Pennsylvania says violence is up at SCI Camp Hill.
The Pennsylvania State Corrections Officers Association warns that, without changes, the trend could permeate the rest of the system because a DOC inmate has to go through SCI Camp Hill first.
“There’s no recourse for not following the rules anymore,” President of the Pennsylvania State Corrections Officers Association Michael Ohler said. “This is evident in the restrictive housing unit changes that we’ve made over the years when inmates fell to follow a policy and break the rules, we put in a restrictive housing unit and took away their privileges. But that is pretty much all but gone.”
