Man not giving up dream of flying after ultralight crash

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The man who had to be airlifted to an area hospital after crashing an ultralight aircraft Sunday says he is not letting the incident stop his dream of flying.

Ernest Washington, 55, broke his hip when he was ejected from his ultralight when it flipped in a grassy field while attempting to land at a Trotwood airstrip.

“Went up too fast and landed too fast,” he says. “Made a couple small mistakes, was, well, turning into big mistakes and wound up here.”
