Purple Martins return to roosts on Lake Murray

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) – It’s the kind of nature show you don’t forget: Purple Martins pouring into Bomb Island at sunset on Lake Murray.

The island is home to one of the largest Purple Martin roosts in North America, drawing visitors from across Lexington County and beyond each summer.
