Life sentence handed down in major Upstate drug trafficking conspiracy

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) — A man was sentenced to life in prison after a Greenville County jury convicted him on multiple drug trafficking charges in a State Grand Jury investigation involving state and local law enforcement agencies.

The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office said Gerald Lee Whitner was convicted Wednesday of conspiracy to traffic fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking fentanyl.
