A Harrisburg police officer, Lee Brown, has been placed on unpaid leave following his arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) in Ocean City, Maryland. The 40-year-old officer was stopped on Monday (July 13) for speeding on a motorcycle at 80 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone. According to Maryland court records, officers detected the smell of alcohol when they pulled him over.
Brown, who resides in Mount Wolf, York County, faces charges for DUI and was cited for reckless and negligent driving, as well as speeding. He was released on his own recognizance after an initial court appearance. His Maryland trial was initially scheduled for Monday, August 17, but has been postponed to Thursday, September 24.
In addition to the DUI charges, Brown is also involved in a pending assault case. He was previously charged with second-degree misdemeanor simple assault, harassment, and criminal mischief in June 2025, following an incident at his home.
