‘Fast-moving’ fire heavily damages two homes in Antelope

(FOX40.COM) — Two homes were heavily damaged in a fire Monday afternoon before crews stopped its spread to other residences, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District announced in a news release.

At around 2:30 p.m., the district responded to a report of a residential structure fire on the 4001 block of Tawny Meadow Way in Antelope. Crews arrived to find a fire burning between the exteriors of two homes in a residential community, fire officials said.

Crews observed “significant fire conditions” and immediately requested additional firefighters and equipment to arrive on scene and help battle the rapidly growing flames, fire officials said.

Firefighters used multiple hose lines to successfully contain the fire to the two homes, although those residences received “extensive fire damage,” fire officials said. Both homeowners escaped safely before crews arrived, and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters…
