I-81 Viaduct Project requires full closure of I-690 eastbound through Syracuse for two years

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In what may become the most inconvenient impact of the I-81 Viaduct Project, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) plans to close a nearly 1.5-mile stretch of I-690 for two years.

Starting in 2027, I-690 eastbound through the city of Syracuse will be reconstructed from Leavenworth Avenue to Crouse Avenue.
