DeWITT, N.Y. — The Lasallian Social Justice Institute is in Syracuse this week, bringing participants from across the country to study the city’s challenges and help families in need.
The group is using Syracuse as a “living laboratory” to learn about issues facing a community that has been ranked the highest in the nation for concentrated poverty. Participants are coming from places including Philadelphia, Chicago and Sacramento. They are in town for the week to explore the realities surrounding child poverty.
