Southern California woman leads CHP on pursuit before arrest near Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Southern California woman is in custody after she allegedly failed to stop along Interstate 5 near the Grapevine and led officers on a pursuit Tuesday morning.

The California Highway Patrol in Fort Tejon said dispatchers received a call for a driver swerving across lanes of traffic in northbound lanes of I-5 near Fort Tejon at around 11:11 a.m.

Officers tried to pull the woman over but she continued to drive and officers started their pursuit. The woman crashed into a guardrail near Grapevine Road but she kept driving, officials said.
