Eastern Avenue is a partially-built roadway in Crozet that has been called for in the multiple versions of the Crozet Master Plan, a document intended to guide development of infrastructure in one of the county’s designated growth areas.
“The 2010 Plan recommended that Eastern Avenue be constructed by developers during new development, with the exception of the Lickinghole Creek crossing, which would need to be a County initiated project,” reads the implementation chapter of the plan last updated in October 2021.
“The road is completed between Park Ridge Drive and Westhall Drive,” the plan continues.
In recent years, the county’s efforts to complete the road have been complicated by an across-the-board increase in cost estimates calculated by the Virginia Department of Transportation. That dates back to 2023 as I reported at the time…
