Delaware County Schedules National Night Out Events in August

National Night Out events will take place across Delaware County on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

National Night Out traditionally takes place on the first Tuesday in August. It offers free, family-friendly activities that include safety demonstrations, games, and direct interactions with local law enforcement and their equipment. Its focus is to promote positive police-community interactions.

According to the Daily Times, National Night Out events in Delaware County this year will include the following:

Aston Township

Aston Township will host activities at the Community Center and New Municipal Building from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 4. Those interested in being vendors can call 610-497-2633 to reserve their spots.

Brookhaven

Brookhaven will host a free National Night Out event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Municipal Center along Cambridge Road on Aug. 4.

Chichester

Chichester has an Aug. 11 Night Out event scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chichester Middle School, 925 Meetinghouse Road, Upper Chichester. Multiple police departments, entertainment, food trucks, and helicopter demonstrations will be present. Any community group or business that would like to participate in the event should register online by Friday, July 31.

Chester

The City of Chester Police Department will hold its Night Out on Aug. 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. outside the police headquarters. Emergency vehicles and food trucks will be part of the event.

Darby

Darby Borough is planning events along the 800 block of New Walnut Street from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Any vendors interested in participating should contact Officer Collins by email before the event.

Eddystone

The Eddystone Police Department’s National Night Out event will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dom Marion Field behind Eddystone Lighthouse Hall, 1401 Ninth St.

Haverford Township

Haverford Township will showcase a SWAT vehicle and K-9 demonstrations, along with standard Night Out activities, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 4 at 1014 Darby Road.

Marcus Hook

Marcus Hook will host a Night Out from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 4 at Market Square Memorial Park, 4 E. Delaware Ave., in the borough.

Marple Township

The Marple Township Police Department will host its National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. behind Cardinal O’Hara High School, 1701 S. Sproul Road.
