TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A benefit concert Friday night helped ensure a Troy organization can feed more people in need in their community.

Sidewalk Warriors Troy serves around 250 people each week with hot meals, groceries and community connections. On Friday, volunteers and community members gathered at the Hudson Candy Factory where they got to enjoy live music, food and drinks.
The president of Sidewalk Warriors, Robin Fontanelli, was one of NEWS10’s “Remarkable Women” finalists this year and shared what drives the organization’s work.

“It’s so important to me that we carry on this mission. This isn’t just a band aid on helping an individual; it’s really taking them a lot of times to that next level. It’s really giving the individual who might be living in a one room apartment with limitations, so when they see the support of us, it brings them to that next level so often.”
