Doctors warn GLP-1 users to watch for dehydration symptoms during First Alert Weather Days

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – As temperatures continue to climb this week during First Alert Weather Days, doctors are urging people to take heat safety seriously. Especially those folks taking popular GLP-1 medications prescribed for weight loss and diabetes.

Dr. Kre Johnson with Brownstone Healthcare said side effects tied to GLP-1s can increase the risk of dehydration in hot weather.
