A weekend crime blitz in Charlotte’s Freedom Division ended with a sizeable haul, as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported 134 traffic stops, 95 citations and nine arrests tied to its latest Queen City Safe operation. Officers said they confiscated about 531.5 grams of suspected narcotics and recovered six illegal firearms during the sweep, describing the deployment as a multi-unit push to pull dangerous drugs, illegal guns and people connected to violent crime off the streets.
CMPD laid out the numbers in a weekend recap on its official X account, where the department also shouted out the state and federal partners that joined the sweep. According to CMPD News, Alcohol Law Enforcement, the FBI, Mecklenburg County ABC, the Department of Juvenile Justice and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol all took part in the operation.
