DMPD seeks help identifying motorcyclist from high-speed chase

DES MOINES, Iowa — Police are asking for help to identify a motorcyclist who led them on a high-speed chase last month in Des Moines and was able to get away.

The incident happened on June 29th just after 7:00 p.m., according to Sgt. Paul Parizek, Public Information Officer for the Des Moines Police Department. An officer was running radar on SE 14th Street when they observed a motorcyclist going 72 mph, exceeding the 40 mph speed limit.

The officer signaled the motorcyclist to stop, but they took off and a pursuit began. Sgt. Parizek said the motorcyclist got on the freeway and reached speeds above 115 mph before the chase was called off…
