KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – Electric City Chuters, a nonprofit competitive amateur youth boxing club, announced on Monday that they would be unable to compete in a boxing event this weekend in Madison due to a lack of transportation.
Since they are a nonprofit, the boxing club operates on a very tight budget. They do not charge membership or gym fees, and travel is made possible though donations from volunteers and supporters.

Electric City’s transportation services depend on a fleet of high-mileage 15-passenger vans that the club’s coach personally bought and donated. The vans have been in use for three years, carrying youth boxers over 100,000 miles each year to tournaments and events across the Midwest.
While the vans have supported the club’s operations for this long, the inevitable wear-and-tear from constant travel has finally started to catch up with them…
