CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Demolition of Great Northern Mall began quickly on Wednesday as contractors started to dismantle the main entrance on the back side of the property.
Sessler Wrecking, the demolition contractor hired by the property’s developer, had at least three excavators taking apart the 38-year-old mall piece by piece.
Guy Hart, of Hart Lyman Companies, bought the dying mall and closed it down for redevelopment in 2022.
It’s taken longer than Hart initially indicated, but the demolition will make way for a promised town center-style complex featuring housing units, dining, entertainment and more…
