OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Small electric and gas-powered bikes are not just toys for teens. Some adults who cannot afford a car rely on them for transportation.
Two such bikes were stolen from senior men outside a South Omaha convenience store on the Fourth of July — and the theft was caught on camera.
The theft
Scott Corbin owns an e-bike. His relative Kenny Sigler has a gas-powered mountain bike. Both bikes were parked outside a convenience store near 30th and Vane, chained together, while the men played video games inside.
Security video obtained by an Omaha police detective shows two women with two children pull up, walk by the bikes and later return. After putting the children in an SUV, the women grabbed the e-bike. Because it was chained to the mountain bike, both were dragged together to the back of the SUV and lifted into the cargo space. The women drove away with both bikes…
