EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 31-year-old woman was shot to death outside an OXXO convenience store Tuesday night, days after she posted videos on social media alleging she had received death threats and that authorities had failed to protect her.
Emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at 9:57 p.m. reporting that a woman was lying on the ground bleeding heavily outside an OXXO near the intersection of Articulo 31 and Vicente Guerrero Avenue in Ciudad Juarez. The caller also reported seeing a motorcycle at the scene and said the woman was not moving.
Municipal police officers responded and confirmed that the victim had died from apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as Zaira Alejandra B.R., 31. According to information provided by authorities, investigators recovered multiple spent 9 mm shell casings at the scene, along with a bank card, cash, a cellphone and identification belonging to the victim.
In videos posted to Facebook before her death, the woman alleged that a woman and members of her family had assaulted her, threatened to kill her and that prosecutors had failed to take action despite her complaints. Those allegations have not been independently verified…
