Man charged in Omaha church basement shooting deemed fit for trial

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The man accused of shooting his cousin at a private even in a church basement last May is now fit for trial.

In January, the Lincoln Regional Center determined Bismellah Mohammadi, 35, was not competent to stand trial, indicating his status could change.

On Wednesday, Judge Petere Bataillon by the regional center that Mohammadi is now competent to stand trial. The judge agreed and set the process in motion for a trial, but has not set a date for the trial yet…
