Another 300 apartments will be built in Irmo, despite some residents’ opposition to high-density housing and concerns over traffic and environmental problems.
The Irmo town council narrowly approved the rezoning of 22 acres off of Columbiana Drive on Tuesday, paving the way for the development after the town’s planning commission unanimously recommended it in June.
