Sacramento residents allowed to keep more dogs under new city ordinance

(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento City Council approved a revision to city ordinances increasing the number of dogs that can be kept at a home.

City code will be updated at the end of August to allow Sacramento households to keep four licensed dogs, up from the previous limit of three.

“For many Sacramento families, pets are an important part of the household,” said Interim Animal Care Services Manager Ryan Hinderman. “This update gives responsible pet owners additional flexibility while continuing to uphold the City’s standards for licensing and spay and neuter.”…
