Traffic Stop by Sonoma County Deputy and K-9 Benji Leads to Seizure of Meth, Unserialized Firearm

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — “On July 17, 2026, a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy and his K-9 partner Benji conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on Luis Plancarte-Montejano, 39, of Santa Rosa. The deputy also knew Montejano to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and was subject to search and seizure.

During the contact with Montejano, a search of his vehicle was conducted, and he was found to have about three pounds of suspected methamphetamine in his trunk. Narcotics Detectives searched Montejano’s home as well.
