COLUMBUS — It has become increasingly difficult for renters to find affordable housing in Toledo and across the state of Ohio over the last six years, according to a new report from the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio.
In 2020, a full-time worker in the Toledo metropolitan statistical area needed to make $14.75 an hour to afford a two-bedroom apartment at the fair market rate. The average Toledo area renter wage was $13.53 in 2020, meaning there was a gap of $1.22.
