TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Doctors at the University of Toledo Medical Center are using a new device to remove tumors without incisions.
The procedure is called a histotripsy. Dr. Puneet Sindhwani, chairman of the Department of Urology at the University of Toledo Medical Center, said it takes a few hours, does not require an overnight hospital stay and has a short recovery period.
“You don’t enter the body or make a cut. Everything is done from outside,” Sindhwani said.
