EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Tension between two alleged “rival groups” in Socorro escalated to a shooting that injured a 15-year-old teen and led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man, according to court documents obtained by KTSM 9 News.
Ulyses Estrada was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Wednesday, July 22. Additionally, he was also arrested on warrants for unlawful carry of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and theft of property.
In court documents, officers had several prior criminal investigations involving Estrada. He was documented in the Texas Gang Database as a member of the Barrio Campestre Locos criminal street gang.
According to the affidavit, at around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 20, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Dindinger Road to multiple reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his left buttocks. The boy had sustained significant blood loss and a tourniquet had to be used as a life-saving measure before being transported by ambulance, according to court documents…
