SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – More than 500 aging utility poles and transformers in Springfield will be replaced in the next four years – about 135 in the coming year with the proceeds of a $3 million grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
City Utilities of Springfield was awarded the grant to help strengthen the city’s electric grid, according to a release from CU.
