[1] ‘We’re excited to roll’: BCSO signs on to return to TV show “On Patrol: Live” – BCSO has signed a contract to officially return to national television. Sheriff Allen said the agency is officially signed on to start production for the television series “On Patrol: Live”. BCSO first joined the TV show in 2022, but Sheriff Allen said he chose to step away from the show in 2023 because he wanted the department to get their priorities straight and they were short on staff. Sheriff Allen said that they will censor when necessary, including graphic incidents, protecting undercover deputies, or private medical information. About 10 to 12 deputies could participate in the show, but that number has not been finalized.
[2] Sandia Pueblo seeks to manage 10,000 acres of land next to the Sandia Mountains – The Sandia Pueblo says the federal government isn’t doing their part to maintain a popular area in the Sandia Mountains. Now, they’re asking the land to be transferred to them. Sandia Pueblo Governor Stuart Paisano says the land surrounding trails like La Luz and Piedre Lisa is under the T’uf Shur Bien preservation area. In 2003, the U.S. Forest Service agreed to maintain it, but Paisano said since then that the Forest Service has not provided adequate staff or funding to maintain the space. Sandia Pueblo has proposed federal legislation to transfer the land to the pueblo. The Sandia Pueblo assures the public that if the transition is successful, they will continue to allow recreational users to access the area
