CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – Tony Ferrari, along with his brother and mother, opened the Mom ‘n ‘em coffee shop back in 2019 in Camp Washington, believing it was the next Cincinnati neighborhood ready to bloom following decades of decline.
After wrangling with the city over plans to open a coffee garden centered around an old Airstream trailer, the Ferraris, who operated an acclaimed restaurant in San Francisco before coming home, instead rehabilitated an old house at 3128 Colerain Ave. Mom ‘n ‘em has won even more praise, with Food & Wine magazine naming it the top coffee shop in Ohio and the third-best in America.
But the neighborhood, in which the family has roots, has not come along as fast as Ferrari thought it would…
