EASTPOINTE — Genesis Chevrolet is one step closer to consolidating its Eastpointe operations after the City Council on July 21 unanimously approved a special land use request for a new dealership and service center.
The goal of the project is to redevelop several properties on the west side of Gratiot Avenue, including a former funeral home and vacant house, into a 53,000-square-foot automobile sales and service center that includes a showroom and outdoor inventory parking.
The City Council’s vote came after the Planning Commission approved the special land use request at its July 9 meeting. The vote was unanimous, though contingent upon the applicant meeting all site plan requirements and conditions imposed by the commission.
