The Lansing Mall has been in operation for 57 years this year, and while many different stores have come and gone and the building has changed in appearance over the decades, the shopping center is still seen as staple of Lansing’s west side.
The mall, built by Detroit-based mall developers Forbes-Cohen, opened at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 1969, at 5330 West Saginaw Highway in Delta Township.
